American Sonny Weems (198-G/F-86) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Zalgiris, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 25-year old player had a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds, while his team edged out Unicaja (3-4) 67-65. Zalgiris is placed at 4th position in Euroleague Group B with 2-5 record. Weems turned to be Zalgiris' top player in his first season with the team. Former The University of Arkansas star has very solid stats this year. Weems is in league's top in points (4th best: 17.9ppg) and averages impressive 47.8% from behind 3-point line.
